Chuck and Sha have always had a heart to worship the Lord and to see people have freedom to learn, grow and deepen their relationship with Jesus. Within this vision is a passion to see people (the body of Christ) fulfill their destinies with the gifts and callings that God has given them.

Chuck was raised in Ponchatoula, Louisiana. Chuck has been actively involved in various areas of ministry including Gideon's International, ministry at Florida Parishes Institute for juveniles, and as a leader in the Singles Ministry at Calvary Christian Center Church in Hammond, Louisiana, the church he attended for many years under Pastors Jack Palmer and Michael Bush.

Sha was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana. Sha attended Life Tabernacle Church with her family and was filled with the Holy Ghost at 13 years of age. In her mid-20's, she relocated to the Ponchatoula area and began attending Calvary Christian Center in Hammond. Sha has spent her entire life with a heart of worship searching for a deeper, more intimate relationship with Jesus.

Chuck and Sha have 5 children and 10 grandchildren. Chuck works full time at Jacobs Engineering in Baton Rouge.

Chuck and Sha had a deep desire to learn about the gift of prophecy and to see others embrace their gifts. Both served as part of the prophetic ministry team at Calvary Christian Center and also at Baton Rouge Christain Center Church (Christian International) with Pastors Larry and Brenda Bassett. They also attended trainings and schools that were provided by leaders and pastors in their churches. Sha attended CCCC for over 20 years.

The heart to encourage others caused the evolution of Chuck and Sha's vision to begin a home ministry, bringing in prophetic ministries from all over the world. These ministers would come with messages from the Lord and release prophetically to those in attendance as well as the region. The Lord began to place on their hearts the desire to start an "ecclesia", or gathering, focusing on worship and prophetic gatherings coupled with a training center for the arts and the gifts of the Spirit.

Thus, the vision of The Gathering Place is to encourage people, build them up and then release them into their destiny.

Pastor Chuck and Shalon are ordained ministers of the gospel under Apostle Gustav Du Toit of Lofdal International, Cape Town, South Africa. Apostle Gustav's church has been and currently remains in great revival for over 120 weeks.
